AREAS OF FERTILITY ASSISTANCE

Welcome to Surrogate Parenting Consultants' service information page. Below is a description of the types of fertility assistance we offer:

Gestational Surrogacy (GS)
The Surrogate Mother becomes pregnant through in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo transfer (ET). The eggs used in this form of surrogacy belong to the Intended Mother. The sperm is from the Intended Father or a sperm donor. The Surrogate has no genetic relationship to the baby. This is currently the most popular form of surrogacy.

Traditional Surrogacy (TS)
The Surrogate Mother becomes pregnant through artificial insemination (AI) with her own eggs. The Intended Father's sperm or donor sperm is used. In Traditional Surrogacy, the Surrogate Mother has a genetic link to the baby. Although Traditional Surrogacy is still used, it is not as common as it was even a few years ago.

Gestational Surrogacy with an Egg Donor (GS/ED)
The Surrogate Mother becomes pregnant through IVF/ET using eggs from a donor other than the Intended Mother. The sperm is from the Intended Father or a sperm donor. The Surrogate Mother has no genetic link to the baby. This form of surrogacy is becoming a common replacement for Traditional Surrogacy.

Egg Donation (ED)
A woman donates her eggs to a couple when the Intended Mother can carry a pregnancy but cannot produce the eggs to get pregnant.
